5,000 Attendees Flock to Orlando to Witness The Latest in Connected Home Technology
2003 Spring Electronic House Expo Opens Largest Show in History

Orlando, Fla., February 28, 2003 - More than 5,000 attendees have journeyed to Orlando for the opening of the 2003 Spring Electronic House Expo (EHX) to see and learn about the latest in connected home products and technology from 200 exhibitors, the largest in EHX show history. The 2003 Spring EHX runs through Saturday at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Duane Paulson, vice president of strategic marketing for GE Interlogix, officially kicked off the show with an opening keynote address presenting the results of a first-of-its-kind connected home industry census. Paulson took a comprehensive look at the business practices of connected home installation companies nationwide and tackled the most difficult business issues faced by integrators, including how integrators compensate their staff and what eats up the biggest chunk of integrator installation revenues. In addition, Paulson discussed from which home-price segments integrators derive the largest percentage of their revenues.

In addition to Paulson's keynote, the 2003 Spring EHX showcases 200 exhibitors displaying the latest networking, control, distributed audio, integrated residential security, video, sales and marketing solutions, internet/broadband, IP, lighting control, and enhancements technology in the industry. The 2003 Spring EHX presents keynotes from GE, BOSE, Russound, Microsoft and Premise Systems. The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) will present its' TechHome Division's 2003 Mark of Excellence Awards this evening. CEDIA is on-site conducting regional training and there are six boot camps and several conference sessions keeping attendees up to date on the hottest trends in the industry.

Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2003, produced by EH Events & Education and sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association's TechHome Division, is the fastest growing trade event serving the $15 billion connected home industry. More than 5,000 professionals come to see more than 200 exhibitors displaying the latest in home networking, home automation, structured wiring, distributed audio, home theater and video, HVAC, lighting control, security and energy management.
